The annual course series allow the comparison and ranking of current temperature, sunshine and rainfall measurements against their long-term averages (norm values). The examples given here show the preceding 12 months to date, updated on a daily basis, for three stations - Bern/Zollikofen, Davos and Lugano.

The graph shows the temperature deviation from the average homogeneous daily mean of the normal period from 1991 to 2020. Red bars indicate warmer days, and blue bars colder days. It can be seen at a glance that the temperatures in May 2021 were cooler than the long-term average. In June and September 2021, temperatures were generally warmer than normal. The 2020/2021 temperatures can be classified by means of the additionally illustrated standard deviation (dotted line) as well as the highest and lowest measured temperatures (grey values). Temperatures at the end of March and in mid-June 2021 were close to the record high values. The fact that it was only slightly warmer than normal in the past twelve months is also shown by the temperature mean of 9.4 °C, which was 0.1 °C above the norm.
