Call for Proposals
MeteoSwiss provides targeted support to projects that contribute to implementing the GCOS Implementation Plan and the GCOS Switzerland Strategy 2017-2026 (see also GCOS Switzerland Strategy). For that purpose, a call for proposals is issued regularly. Detailed information on the open call for proposals is provided below.
Open Call for Proposals
Currently there is no open call.
How can I apply?
Complete the above application form.
Who is eligible?
The call for proposals is open to all national institutions in Switzerland. It primarily addresses institutions that can demonstrate extensive experience in climate system monitoring and research in Switzerland.
How is the proposal evaluated?
The Swiss GCOS Office conducts the formal evaluation of the proposals. Given that all formal criteria are met, the GCOS Switzerland Steering Committee (StC) evaluates the proposals as regards their substance according to predefined evaluation criteria.
What is the maximum duration of a project?
The duration depends on the scope of the call for proposals, as defined by the StC. Details are provided in the respective call for proposals.
When do projects start?
The supported projects start on 1 August of a given year.
How will the StC monitor the project progress?
The partner institution has to submit a final report at the end of each project. In addition, the partner institution is requested to submit a short progress report on a yearly basis to the attention of the StC.
