Weather and climate risks pose a significant challenge to both science and society. The central question is how the findings of climate and risk research can be integrated and made available to society. This is why the joint Weather and Climate Risks professorship is situated at the interface between natural and social science research. Affiliated with both ETH Zurich and MeteoSwiss, the professorship is ideally placed to bring science and practice together.
Since late 2016, Prof. Dr David N. Bresch has held the joint ETH and MeteoSwiss professorship in Weather and Climate Risks at the Institute for Environmental Decision-Making within the Department of Environmental Systems Science. His work focuses on how to manage weather and climate information and use it to inform our decision-making.
